Community Open Source

Community Open Source is a distribution, packaging, and pricing structure that provides an open-source foundation containing a strong base system that can be acquired without cost or obligation.
That foundation can then be extended and enhanced by users, consultants, or vendors through either open-source or license-fee software extensions.

Also, the base is open to enhancements from consultants, vendors and other users so the customer has more than one source for product enhancements.

Because the user can always fall back on the base system or acquire solutions from other vendors or users/developers, no single vendor has the leverage necessary to engage in predatory pricing.
